Dreamcast Paintjob

An excerpt from "Finds of the Day":

My buddy and I picked up a Dreamcast for $7 in a thrift store yesterday. We found that it wouldn't take controllers, but all we had to do is replace a single resistor and voila! Now it plays like a dream. PUN.

Anyways, since we both have Dreamcasts already, we're gonna paint up and mod this one. So expect to see pics eventually, for better or for worse.

Please think carefully before you paint it. We have enough tragedies.

Yeah I was actually thinking about that when we decided to paint it. We must break the "curse" of ugly and fucked-up Dreamcasts!

In celebration of Dreamcast's tenth birthday (tomorrow), I present this very Dreamcast.

That is a beautiful paint job! Some of the one's you see are really bad! This one is awesome though!

While I don't agree with your color choice, from a technical perspective it's very well done.

It looks great, I actually love the avocado color!

But, you should have taken the case apart, I can still see some gray in the panel lines/case division/vents.

How did you keep the Sega logo above the controller ports? Is that the original decal or did you remove/paint over the original and then add it back?

Great paintjob! Looks like you took the time to do it right. The color is a bit relative to the owner's tastes but it's still solid work. Thumbs up!
