Modding Universal Video Game Cases for NES

Post by fuctfuct »

I just got through doing one. I never want to do that again (took a while) lol.

Anyone know a really fast way and have pics of the results? I don't have a dremel but i guess a cheap one would work ok. Other then that i have heard soldering irons are fast but seems like it would be messy/smelly.

What kind of modding are you talking about? Maybe some pics of the one you did would clarify things.

Dremels are awesome, everyone should have one. You can get a nice kit for $40-50, and when you think of all the projects it will enable you to do, it's really very cheap.

I'll second the Dremel idea. It should run you about $50 and lets you do a case in about one minute.

Just remember this, you want to go with slow rotation speed on plastic, otherwise it turns into a melting stinking mess and your cutting wheel is gummed up and ruined.

i did one with a dremel. never again. i did the next 30 with a box cutter. i managed to destroy about 4 or 5 cases and stabbed myself in the hand, but i would still do it this way, just be careful.
