Where do you score your best game deals?

It's seems that some of the best game deals are to be found at places that aren't really known for selling video games. I've found really good deals in pawn shops where they don't seem to know the value of what they have.

Also, oddly enough, book stores (especially Half Priced Books) tend to carry PC games (and sometimes console) at really good prices.

Fred Meyer often runs coupons in their ads for 10-50% off items in the electronics department, which can lead to a good score. Stores like this also will have cheapy racks of PC games and if you are willing to dig past 53 different Mahjong and match-3-puzzle game titles, you will occassionally find a keeper in there.

Where do you find some of your best deals?

All my best deals have been from Craigslist posts. Twelve game systems, accessories, and a few 2600 games for $58. SMS and accessories for $15. Genesis and SCD for $20. DC and PS for $25.

I haven't come across good deals on games at Half Price books here. Though I don't go very often. I did get a ton of great CDs there a while back for $3 and less. I think they were having a clearance.

sadly I can't tell you guys or people would know my special spots. With that said I've got great deals of CL. One way to score deals is to have something of value say ps2 and say you want to trade it for a old super nintendo and games. People will give u all there old stuff that's worth something because they think it's old.

I have gotten all but one of my great deals at Salvation Army. The other one that I got elsewhere I found at Goodwill.

Another place I forgot to mention is video rental places. You can get good games for cheap sometimes at a Hollywood or Blockbuster, but especially if you check the locally owned places, they often don't know if a game is worth money or not, they just know if it gets checked out frequently. This is good if you want something obscure. It tends to not pull in a lot of rentals, so they often think it is worth less. Even if it's not for sale, try asking if they would sell it for X amount of dollars. Sometimes a manager will bite.

There are a couple of hole-in-the-wall game stores I know. I really don't know how these people stay in business since they clearly don't have much of an understanding of video game prices. My best guess is that since they're located in really bad neighborhoods, they might have some kind of captive audience for trade-ins.

Most of the time, the pricing works to the buyer's disadvantage ($20 for used GTA III...LOLWUT), but inversely, they'll also grossly underprice certain items.

I've gotten wicked deals there, like a used Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for $10, a factory-sealed Persona 4 for $20, and a factory sealed Xenosaga Episode 3 for $17.
