How to deal with a blown B-Day party?
So, I had my 16th birthday party today... or more so didn't have a party because no one came... So I was wondering how you guys would deal if you were in my situation.

I stopped having parties at 13...so I am not sure what to tell you. A "party" for me was having 2 friends over and just playing games all night...which is what we did all the time anyway. Uhm...find some new friends...what you have now sucks?
Happy birthday reguardless

Why didn't anyone show up?
Happy birthday loser.

i'd be bummed but i would take the time to recount what was actually important to me. if no one you invited came to your party, and they didn't have a good excuse, then honestly, dude, you are better off without people like that in your life. i'm not going to go on forever but ages 12-16 were pretty rough for me (like 7th through 10th grade) so i feel like i can relate a little bit. it never hurts to turn to something constructive, like art, music, programming, even manual work like building things, design, etc. just don't sit and dwell, you'll make yourself feel good for the moment but worse in the long run.
good luck, man.

assuming that your friends aren't dicks, it's possible that the birthday party is an obsolete concept at age 16. unless the party had beer and girls, i have a feeling that a lot of 16 year olds would balk at going to a birthday party. when i was your age, i'd probably have pitched it really casually--like it's my birthday, let's hang out and do X.

I talked to a few of the friends who were supposed to have come, and most had good excuses. So I guess I'm not as hurt as I had thought.
@dedalusdedalus: You pretty well hit upon what I had planned, just no beer cause I'm too broke. It was just a few of us were gonna eat pizza and watch Shaun of the Dead.

Either way, happy birthday. Sit back, relax, and play your favorite game for a little while.

Happy B-Day.
I've had birthdays where I've invited friends and none of them have made it to my birthday. I prefer to be alone on holidays and b-days anyway, I just like to enjoy my own company.
