Next week, the side-scroller favorite series Contra will be making an appearance on the Wii. Titled Contra Rebirth, this will be an all new adventure for the WiiWare.

Rebirth will let players choose between Bill Rizer or samurai Genbei Yagyu (Lance Bean has disappeared). The game will feature two player local co-op, and will have two unlockable characters to get. Rebirth will be 2D sprite rendered, and will also include many of the classic power-ups seen in the Contra series.

The story also follows the classic Contra theme as well, as aliens are still trying to destroy all Contra on Earth. This time, they travel back to 1973 to Central America.

I can't wait! :D

You do realize that you can get an ethernet connection for the Wii, don't you? If you only have dial-up (WTF!?!?!?! I haven't used dial-up literally since 1999), it's possible to hook-up it up to the wii via LAN.

Why the F--- don't you have high-speed internet?

There are still rural places in the US that only have dialup unfortunately.

So I can use my wireless router with my crappy-ass dial-up?

And why don't I have high-speed? Hmm... call me crazy but... MONEY!!! The best possible DSL connection from the only decent provider is about $55/month, and that's 10Mbps.

Right now, I have 56k for $15 because that's what I can afford. And my grandfather pays for our phone service, and the DSL comes from the phone company (Embarq). I asked him about it, telling him I'd reimburst him. But, with my job, my hours tend to get cut heavily during the winter time due to less tourism (I live in what is called a "resort town"). So, even with unemployment (last year, I got about $130-150/week), then throw in groceries (when I get regular hours, typically spend $120/two-week period to last me the pay period) and the whole Christmas-shopping (my current estimate, with a $20-30 limit per person, is in the $200-300something range), even with my Christmas bonus, It'd be difficult.

And no... there are no jobs available in the off-season. That's why I'm seeking to supplement my income by going with buying and selling goods online.

Not that it matters, cuz WiiWare games cost money.

You can rig it so your dial-up connection hooks up to a router (via an ethernet connection in your PC might be one way; look into different ways). Then either wireless to your Wii or buy an adapter to hook up your Wii with a cable.

10Mbps isn't decent. It's pretty f'n slow. Petition your city to get 1.0Gbps!!!!!! Consider getting a job in another city. :)

New job time! I'm not saying it's easy, I'm just saying time for a career change.
