NEo Geo Monitor

Post by Kevman »

So I found a Neo Geo MVS 2-slot locally for only $100. Sadly it is missing a monitor. Anyone know how hard it is to find, install the monitor and how much?

to be honest...im not sure if it needs a specific monitor...but the monitors can run into a few hundred dollars

I don't know if this is coincidence or not, but i saw one near where i'm at for 99 and looked into the same thing myself.

You are going to run around 250 at least for the monitor. Xarcade has a 27 incher (dont' know if that fits) for 400. Also, if you don't get free shipping then that could be rough on the price.

If you've done some soldering before, the installation might be easier for ya, but soldering aside, it still looked like it was over my head. Plus trying to hook it up and having the actual weight of the monitor would be a pain.

The good thing about all this is that you'll have a crisp new monitor on it. No burn ins. No question marks about when it is going to go on you. Great colors.

All in all- you are looking at 400-550 bucks total. Not to mention the time put into the project. Unless you have a monitor on hand, i would say pass.

You could always consolize it.

true, but all you would need out of the cab is the board right? I'm pretty sure you can get one cheaper.

Just pop in a standard 25 inch Wells Gardner monitor.

It won't be more than $300...probably MUCH less if you have any distributors around.

i had a 25" WG shipped directly for $270. if you have a 19", now is the time to upgrade. install took me about 10 minutes. 6 screws, a few connections, enjoy.
