Already have gone through three controllers in the past 4 years and the originals are getting harder and harder to come by and more expensive.

I highly doubt it. The 360 controllers are a totally different beast. I'm 99% sure they don't even use a common ground.

You find Xbox 1 controllers to be difficult to track down? I seriously see them all over the place. The duke variety are a little tougher to find, but aside from that, I see S controllers at a lot of places, especially consignment shops.
