I look at Goodwill and similar places a lot to find old games. In my area the following are common and easy to come across:
Sega Genesis
Sega Dreamcast
NES
Super NES
Nintendo 64
Game Gear
Gameboy
The following are sort of obscure. I've seen them, but it's seldom.
Sega Saturn (seen only 4-5 systems over the past few years; games are rather uncommon)
Atari Lynx (encountered only 1 over the past 9 years)
3DO (never seen an actual system; seen games maybe 3 times in the past few years.)
The following I've never even seen in real life.
Atari Jaguar
Neo Geo
Turbo Grafix 16
This results in some interesting situations, such as the fact that my entire Sega Genesis collection was pretty much accumulated from frequent visits to Goodwill, whereas all my Sega Saturn stuff came from eBay. How about you guys?
What game consoles do you encounter in the wild?

None at all because I don't visit enough used items shops just game shops.
One day I'm going to make a tour around all of Madrid's shops, they will have something interesting for sure.
I have never seen anything Saturn related so imagine how many 3DOs and such I see.

Not counting ones I bought online obviously.
Commonly seen NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, various Game Boy systems, Atari 2600, Dreamcast, PS1, and current/last gen obviously
Uncommonly seen Saturn, Game Gear, Sega CD
Seen once or so in the wild - Jaguar, Odyssey2 (bought it), Tele Action TV Game (pong unit, also bought it), Atari 7800, Neo Geo Pocket Color (bought it), Intellivision (bought it), 32X
to name a few
I've seen games for certain systems which I've never seen wild, Game.Com, 3DO, Virtual Boy, etc

Re: What game consoles do you encounter in the wild?
Genesis 2, PSX, and Dreamcast are the most common for me, with N64 and all in one tv units being the next. Ive seen all mainstream US consoles in the wild, but the only AES I saw was in a pawnshop and the guy wanted $500 for it. This was during the mid 90s though.

Hmm I rarely see dreamcast games in my area, and same with gameboy games which is kinda weird

Re: What game consoles do you encounter in the wild?
I have actually seen everything, the only thing I have owned that I have NOT seen in the wild was anything neo geo.
Everything from complete rob NES in the box still
to like new sega cds with the box
to a box and complete virtual boy
But at the same time sometimes I might drive 2 hours to goto one store to look...I do alot of driving to look for stuff actually...
If I am on my way to a store thats 2 hours away and I see a yard sale I will stop. Pawn shops, good will, fleamarkets...anything and everything, I stop.

Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.
Re: What game consoles do you encounter in the wild?
I tend to find PS2s and Nintendo 64s the most. I've seen 360s, PS1s, and various Gameboys in shops before. I did come across one shop with several 3DOs and a ColecoVision for sale, but that was in a different state(and it's where I bought my 3DO).
Re: What game consoles do you encounter in the wild?
lots of stuff but mostly stuff from within the last decade and only the popular stuff. ONce and a while something rare pops up last time was a 3D0
Re: What game consoles do you encounter in the wild?
Big Al's in Seattle carries all kinds of obscure stuff... Collecovision, Odyssey 2, Retro Duo, Intellivision, etc. The more rare it is, the more it's gonna cost ya though.
