Top 5/10 Puzzle Games?

Post by lisalover1 »

What are your personal top 10 or top 5 puzzle games?

Here's mine:
5. Puzzle Bobble 4
4. Tetris DS
3. Meteos
2. Wind and Water Puzzle Battles
1. Super Puzzle Fighter 2X

This is an early list, because I'm probably forgetting a ton of great ones that I missed, but here it is anyway.

planet puzzle league
dr mario
magical drop
puzzle bobble
Puyo Puyo

I do have some serious love in my heart for meteos, yoshi's cookie, tetris, and mr driller too.

Tetris is one of those games that everyone loves, everyone has played, but i just couldn't put it on my top 5. It is just.... too.... generic? It is the grandfather of puzzle video games. I just need more than it's bare bones style.

There have been different flavors for sure. I wish the tetris game that uses the balance board on the wii was a little more difficult. I like that version. What i really want to try out is the japanese version of tetris for the n64 that paces itself with your heart rate. However, finding the game and heart rate monitor is a bit difficult.

as far as games that are kinda puzzle games but arn't really....

twinklestar sprites
fire n ice
adventures of lolo

Honestly I'm not a big fan of tetris at all. Probably cuz I suck at it but I just found it kind of boring. I like tetris attack though.

i love the professor layton games. Problem with them is there really isn't any replay value. A good puzzle game (to me) needs to be additively playable LONG after the system it is on isn't in production.

didn't even know about that game. It looks bizarre. I gotta get a copy and try it out.

Tetris is a given. And Dr. Mario is up there. But Super Puzzle Fighter II is sooooooooo fucking good. It's probably grown into my favorite puzzle game.
