Steel Battalion sold me on purchasing a cheap Xbox. Giant controller + mech action + window wipers = awesome.

I have Psi-Ops on the PS2. I don't know how short it is since I haven't beaten it, that doesn't mean its long, it just means it's not as short as my attention span.

Psi-Ops is always in the bargain bins. You should be able to find it for $5 or less. This game and another one called Second Sight are quite similar and came out around the same time. They both have characters with various paranormal powers such as telekinesis, mind control, etc. This is very cool. The telekinesis is similar to using the gravity gun in Half Life 2 (and we all now how cool that is, right?). Psi-Ops is fairly underappreciated. Definitely worth the fiver for which it can easily be had today.

I played it not so long ago. It's a solid FPS, a decent one if you like the genre, with a few twists, but nothing out of the ordinary. A good pick for 5€/$/£ (whatever currency you use) or so, but don't go out of your way to pick it up. It's also somewhat short.
