This.

To be fair, Muramasa is really a niche title, and comparing it to Odin Sphere, while accurate, doesn't necessarily endear it to others. Odin Sphere was a deeply flawed game, but it was awesome if you could look past the flaws. But I personally wouldn't expect anyone else to do so.
Very well put, Mr.Popo.

I don't get the GameStop hate. It's almost saying something close to, "People who like good appliances don't shop at Best Buy".
I've had some problems with pre-orders that I've paid for in advance and didn't receive the game when promised, but my local GameStop has great employees and fair prices.
I guess I don't like overpriced used games with 20 impossible to remove stickers on them. And I never said I hate Gamestop, I just said people like to pay cheap prices for their games shop elsewhere. I can go to my local game shop or Amazon and find a game usually $10 cheaper than Gamestop And I never said anything about Odinsphere MrPopo.

Ok so what does the wallscroll look like? I may go preorder just so the guy can get his numbers if it looks cool.

Ditto.

Thank you. I'm not sure what people are trying to prove by calling the majority of this generation's systems' owners (read: predominantly Wii owners) idiots. :(

Just enjoy the good good games that are coming out! There are plenty out there and I'd be willing to bet it doesn't make much difference what's on the horizon considering we all likely have very large backlogs!

With all due respect,

manaman

PS: I've been very excited for this game to come out. I'm not sure about the scroll, though. I don't think I need it. But the game is a must buy. Also, I'll be picking up A Boy and His Blob. I LOVE 2D.

I wasn't directing this comment at you, it just seems a lot of people here aren't fans of GS. If you don't like the prices, don't pay.

On a positive GS note, I got Final Fight on the GBA at my local GS for under 4usd. Not a bad port.

I know you didn't, I was just bringing it up as another reason why people might not be interested in this game. The people who haven't heard of it won't get it, and the ones who have heard of it but didn't care for Odin Sphere who might not get it (due to the comparison).

Its mostly the sticker issue that steers me away from Gamestop. The prices on the old games are reasonable, but current gen titles are overpriced when compared to the competition. Mr Popo, I didn't mean to come off like a dick, I thought you may have misquoted or missread something. I really enjoyed Odinsphere, and I'm looking forward to Vanillawares latest offering. And Luke the GBA port of Final Fight is a great port and $4.00 is pretty good price wise.

The stickers are easy, you just have to have a steady hand and they come right off, no goo and even if you don't have "skillz", theres always Goo-Gone. At the game store i work at, I usually take them off for customers if there's no line. Oh, and if the box itself is trashed, you can just ask a rep. to change the box out for a better one. I've done it a million times.

And for the record, I've gotten a crapload of good games from gamestop. Almost my entire ps2 collection came from there.

Working at a gamestore, I can say it's because a majority of wii owners ARE idiots. You wouldn't BELIEVE how many people buy "Chicken Shoot", essentially a flash banner that occasionally shows up on your browser turned into a $20 piss-bucket. I've seriously sold hundreds of copies, easily more than any other game on the wii next to wii fit and mario kart (wii sports resort seems to be a hot item now as well).

Here's the flaw in that logic. As much as gamers who actually know what a good game is (those i dub with the title "hardcore") still enjoy the good games that come out and ignore the bad, we no longer represent the majority. The casual crew has overtaken us and, whether you want to acknowledge it or not, it is effecting you and it effects the games coming out. When the wii game came out, sure there were always licensed games that sucked but never this many. The wii literally has around 60-70% of a catalog of games that are based on cartoons, tv-shows, or have some idiot celebrity trying to make a quick buck by plastering their face on more shovelware (sports games also sell well) and guess what? THESE STUPID GAMES SELL! They sell a LOT now because most casual gamers have no idea what a good game actually is. Either that or, as the wii doesn't have too many titles and, for the first time ever, the wii has a lot of grownup players, they run out of good games to buy and end up buying everything (the same is starting to happen for 360, it's just that there's a lot bigger variety of actually GOOD games on the 360) Now, the problem is that the sales figures of these crappy games (which are sky high) make other companies think that this is the most efficient way to make money and, since the companies themselves have no scruples, we're starting to see more and more shovelware. Do you remember the ds selection of games before the wii came out? A few little kid games, but nothing overwhelming. Now, after the wii showed developers that shovelware, in fact, CAN make money, the ds lineups look just LIKE the wii's, even worse in some resepects (the imagine games are the worst games EVER).

So yes, you should enjoy good games but that doesn't mean you don't have the right to be cheesed off about a possible collapse of the gaming industry (or, at the least, an industry with no good games left because they aren't profitable) due to the sheer amount of people who buy bad games which, in my opinion, categorizes one as an idiot.

Yeah, I'm one of those who - even if I did still have a Wii - wouldn't be too crazy about Muramasa because I didn't care much for Odin Sphere.

As for the GameStop sticker issue - use a hair-dryer or something else that can put off a great deal of heat. The GameStop stickers are thermal - heat 'em up, and they'll peal off real easy.
