Yeah, that's the thing. It looks like it might work but we don't know for sure. I know these systems are on the rarer side, so it may be hard to find someone who has both of em to give us a definite answer.alex_dragon wrote: i dont see why it wouldn't be since the ram adapter is shaped like a famicom game(but flat at the top)
the only problem i could see happening is that it might not fit properly because of the switch that changes it into famicom mode...but to me it looks like it would fit
i cant tell you 100 percent sure since 300 bucks for a titler is a bit out of my price range
Is the Famicom Disk System compatible with Famicom Titler?

That one I don't know. I don't have a PS2 RGB cable to test it out with. Inazuma, can you comment?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Wait, the X-RGB can handle the PS2's 'Sync on Green' RGB signal?MrPopo wrote:I can attest to the quality of the XRGB-3 as well, though I personally feel that the S-video and composite stuff looks really good on B1 mode. It might be that my TV handles the VGA output really well and doesn't do any processing, so the picture looks just as good as it did on my old CRTs. At some point I do plan to upgrade all my stuff to RGB cables, though. I've only had a couple of problems with my XRGB so far. The first is when I was playing DQVII and some of the enemies did an attack that made the screen flash white rapidly the video would desync and return to normal almost immediately. The second is that my Neo Geo doesn't play too nice with it. I've tried the component->dsub adapter as well as the official RGB cable and both of them have some distortion at the top.
I talked about it a bit more here, where I also mention where I purchased it.

PS2, RGB cable and XRGB. I have all the pieces so I should be able to test it but I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about. Can you explain the sync on green thing and tell me if there is anything special you want me to do when I test it?MrPopo wrote:That one I don't know. I don't have a PS2 RGB cable to test it out with. I can do this sometime tomorrow evening.
Re: Is the Famicom Disk System compatible with Famicom Titler?
So my understanding is the PS2 does a sync on green method for its RGB cable, which basically means that if the TV/monitor can't handle it (or the XRGB in this case) you won't get a picture. Sync on green is a different method from the standard RGB. For example, look at the pinout for your standard SCART cable:Inazuma wrote:PS2, RGB cable and XRGB. You can see that the sync signal comes on a separate pin. In the PS2 the sync comes bundled in with the green signal.

Re: Is the Famicom Disk System compatible with Famicom Titler?
Ok, just finished testing things.
I connected my JP PS2 via RGB cable to the XRGB-3 outputting DVI into my HDTV. First thing I saw was a green screen. Now I see what you guys were talking about. I quickly changed the PS2 system setting from component to RGB and got an excellent picture.
I played a PS1 game and then a PS2 game. Both looked fantastic. Then I put in a regular video dvd. The green screen was back! I couldn't figure out any way to fix the green screen this time. I even tried messing with some of the RGB level settings in the XRGB-3 and it didn't help much. RGB looks great for games but I guess it just refuses to work for DVD movies.
*edit* Oh, I forgot to mention that during the PS2 game (Narutimate Hero 3), the screen flashed black for a second when it was loading a cutscene and it caused the XRGB-3 to lose the signal but it was back right away. My TV popped up the resolution notifier thingy in the corner at this time too. This is a minor flaw with the XRGB-3 but for most games it shouldn't happen.

Sweet, sounds like the XRGB lets you hook up the PS2 through RGB, which is nice. And I have several other devices that play DVDs, so no losses there.Inazuma wrote:Ok, just finished testing things.

I have noticed that flaw in the XRGB, though. It seems if all the pixels change to the same color at the same time and then change back it causes the XRGB to lose the signal. I saw it in DQVII, when certain monsters would strobe the screen a few times to indicate they were trying to blind the party.

Looks like no one could answer my question with 100% certainty. Either way, I will look into getting an RGB modded Famicom Titler eventually. If my Disk System happens to work on it, that would be a nice bonus.

Great info on the XRGB guys. I've been looking around for that kind of stuff. I'm going to be on the lookout for one in Japan when go in a few weeks. I figure that's the cheapest way I'll get one, if I can find one.
Mainly I want to play NES games on my HDTV. I also have a Genesis and SNES, but the SNES does pretty well with s-vid already. I can only imagine how nice it would look with the upscaler.

If you're in Japan get an RGB cable for your SNES, then it'll truly look fantastic via the X-RGB.RadarScope1 wrote:Great info on the XRGB guys. I've been looking around for that kind of stuff. Re: Is the Famicom Disk System compatible with Famicom Titler?
So let me see if I understand this. I could snag a cable like this, and it would pull RGB from the SNES and feed it into a high-quality converter like the XRGB, which would turn it into a line-doubled s-vid or DVI output??
