Do NOT Install Internet Explorer 8 Update!

Anyway, back on topic. Found this regarding the IE 8 new window thing. Maybe it will help.

(FYI, for fix #1 they mean right click on the IE icon and run as admin which will bring up all the prompts from the UAC asking if your mommy said it was ok and you have a note from your doctor)

Well I tried that, and solution #2 worked for me.

Does anyone know how to keep this update from returning on a regular basis?
I've heard bad things about IE8 from here and elsewhere, but Windows Update keeps trying to get me to download it.

Any particular reason why you don't want IE8? Every time there's an IE update I'd just install it and just not use it (even before I started making web pages).
