Google does try its best to promote global achievements. I am not saying they were right for putting Tetris over Dday, but I know quite a few Germans who would have been offended by it - as they have stated. To put it in an extreme context, how would you feel if for August 6th they put up the bombing of Hiroshima when the creation of the modern World Wide Web was on the same day?

I'm fine with it. But yeah, that's quite an extreme comparison.

*edit: I'm second generation German. I don't believe anyone is 100% anything race wise, but I'm about as German as it gets. My grandparents on both sides of my family came to the US before WW2, due to religious conflicts with Hitler's propaganda. My family is Lutheran, and didn't believe in religious prosecution. Both of my grandfathers actually fought in the US Army during the war.

I was stuck on a WW2 thought since we were talking about Dday, I apologize if it is to offbase.
