Demon's Souls looks fun

Post by bobbynewmarkiii »

Masochistic?

This looks fun.

http://www.rpgfan.com/reviews/Demons_Souls/index.html

Racketboy searches throw up 1 copy for sale and one other reference.

So, who has played this, and what's it like?

Anyone else looking at getting the US release in October?

I read that review, and I am glad I did.

I do not have a ps3, but I am building a list of games that will turn the tide and make the ps3 a must have system for me. I am currently a big PC gamer with a side of Xbox 360. This game is defiantly up on that list for me. :-)
Got: Atari 2600, Atari 7800Pro, Commodore 64, Odyssey 2, Sega Master System, NES, Genesis Models 1-3, Nomad, Game Gear, Sega CD Model 1, Sega 32x, SuperNES, GameBoys, GameBoy Pocket, GBC, Sega Saturn Model 2, GBA, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2 Slim, Nintendo DS Lite, Xbox 360, Gamecube, PS3 Slim

Spent a ton of time playing the import version - so far it's probably my game of the year. From Software did a fantastic job in creating the dark and foreboding atmosphere, and heightening the tension by giving every enemy the abillity to kill you rather quickly if you make mistakes. The game definetly has a steep learning curve, but once you're past it everything falls into place and becomes seriousley fun. I'm probably gonna sell my import copy at some point as i've got the US special edition pre-ordered, just to support From and with the hope that some day we'll get a sequel or some DLC (6th Archstone PLZ!!!).

Gotta friend of mine who is trying to get rid of it so he can get the American version. He loved the hell out of it, and tried to get me to import it before. Said it was his favorite game on the PS3.

...it was only ever a matter of time...

Preordered the deluxe US version on import with all the trimmings - strategy guide, artbook and CD :) Coverart is a bit cooler on the slipcase for deluxe version and asian imports.

I beat my first cycle about a week after it released. Then I lent it to a coworker who was unsure if he wanted it or not; he purchased it immediately. I just got it back and might get in some more time on a second cycle over the weekend. My second cycle I'm going to go for a full run of doing all the WT and CT events.
