American Wii in Japan Question

Post by rainnyx4 »

So, I moved to Japan about a month ago with my American Wii in tow. I quickly made friends with another American that lives in my apartment building. The other night we decided to boot up my Wii that's been collecting dust in my closet for the last month. So, I brought it down to his place only to realize that Japanese tvs don't have a US style component input! It was then I found out about "d-terminal". My question is, if I do go ahead and buy a d-terminal cable, will my American Wii work as normal? Or is there going to be some sort of other conflict when I go ahead and try hooking it up again?

If you can get a component video to D terminal adapter, it will work just fine. As for the 2 audio cables, those should connect normally without any adapters needed. I used one of these adapters for my Wii the other day and it worked out.

Yes the Japanese cables are compatible with an American Wii as the AV multiouts are identical.
