I have had some fun with the multiplayer, but... I could never get past level 2 and overall, it's an ugly game that's unsatisfying to play.

It alternates, chief. If I remember correctly, level 3 will be flying, level 4 will be a beat 'em up, level 5 is flying, etc.

Good Lord. I tried playing the game again, and all of a sudden, the controls are the worst I've ever played with. It was almost good before... what happened?

Don't take offense to this, but maybe the controls were always terrible and you were under the influence of something before :) (just putting some more fun comments in this thread).
