I was picturing some kinda weird nintendo glove/strap made for holding gameboys.

I also picked up a Gameboy Color and the original.

The grail I need to get someday is the Gameboy Light. It's the black and white Gameboy with an indigo light only sold in Japan.

I have fond memories of Junior high sneaking games of Mario and Tetris in at lunch time, those were fun days.

Anyone else have a Gameboy story they want to share?
Funny, this must be contagious, as I too have recently re-realized the greatness of the Game Boy. I have a couple of limited edition Game Boys that I'll post some photos of this week. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone here. It's amazing to me that this little system was around for nearly 20 years and transformed from a black and white 8-bit system to a color 8-bit system to a 32-bit system... all the while maintaining backwards compatibility to it's original games for most of it's lifespan. How many other systems have done anything close to that?

Completely agree. In slightly dim situations, the light can actually be more annoying than no light. Find a dark room and the light works great.

Freshman year of high school, I remember playing Final Fantasy adventure rather than paying attention to my Spanish class. (note: to this day, I only speak one language)

I bought one of these for a friend of mine a couple months ago from Hirayashi. She loves it.

I also love the Gameboy series, I played them all throughout my school years. I had quite a bit of fun playing Tactics Ogre on my GBA in my Global Consumer Culture class in college. When half your grade is based on showing up, it was an easy A, and I beat both TO and FFTA. But I have trouble going back to play some of the earlier titles.

I remember when I went to Scotland in the mid 90s, a buddy of mine let me borrow a Hongkong bootleg 151 in 1 Gameboy cart and it kept my brothers and I busy the entire flight. It had this one platformer on it where you were a crocodile or alligator. I enjoyed alot, but have yet to find since. Any ideas?

The GBL is indeed nice, but I think the games look overall better when used in a GBA SP2. The trade-off though, is that the cartridge sticks out.

Yep, the original GB is an amazing system. I need to start collecting game for it myself.
