What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I've seen the original, but not the '78 remake.

Have you seen the original?

Yeah, the original is a great example of a film that seizes on the fear of communist infiltration in the US - since it came out in 1956, it was the perfect horror film for the McCarthy era. Does the remake in 1978 have any political angle?

I believe it had more to do with the dangers of social conformity than the 'commie paranoia' of the 50s. But watch and decide for yourselves. It is recommended viewing and has aged very little.

Have you ever noticed that "com" is short for "communist"? Racketboy is part of the Red Menace!

You know, I haven't actually watched either Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I should really pick them up and see them.

Last movie I watched was "Julie & Julia."

Chick-flick without a doubt... That's what happens when your woman picks movies.

No, that's what you get when your woman keeps your balls in her purse.

As for me, I'd never date a girl who can't see eye to eye with me when it comes to movies and stuff.

And:

Yesterday

Good, but not great.

Tonight

Loved it.

And got this at Kmart today (put it on layaway some time ago):
NINJA COLLECTION: VOLUME 1

It's a 10-movie set (it's "Volume 1"), spanning three DVDs (first two are double-sided). It was also panned heavily by IGN, but I don't care. Ten ninja films for about a buck-fifty each? It's worth it if the set cost $20. The movies are:

* Ninjitsu
* Ninja Hunt
* Purple Hood Ninja 1-2
* 17 Ninjas
* Hero of Swallow
* Ninja Power Force
* Ninja Kids Phantom Force
* Golden Ninja Invasion
* Cyber Ninja (I know of this, and it's described on Cinemageddon as "Power Rangers"-esque version of Star Wars)
