Who can fix a VCR? Or at least diagnois a problem.

Hmmm i didn't know the A/V selector boxes had coax. I was going by the one i have on my TV which has the regular RCA and SVideo.

If you have no luck, check Craigslist or better yet Freecycle online if there are pages for your area.

To the OP: Open up the VCR and look for the obvious (anything broke, torn, blown up, etc.) if you can't find anything, post pictures of the insides for us.

more interestingly what are you going to use it for.

Lately I have been very interested in VCRs and VHS.
I know this is different topic but it is funny when people talk that DVD is superior to VHS(in media yes) but on cultural(and historical) impact , VHS lived a good 25 years at least while the DVD just reached 10 years and it seems it is dying next to downloadable content, ipods, and bluray . Lets not forget VHS is recordable!

back to topic, why not buy new VCR? You can still find a combo where I am(half way around the world)

I'm far from an expert, but looks ok. Its pretty clean inside, no bursting caps. Though funny that it has silkscreened on the power board to make sure to replace fuse wiht the same kind but I don't see a fuse unless its the funky kind like is in the SCD.

90% chance it probably is in inline fuse such as the Sega CD's and can be fixed with a relatively quick solder job.
