I got a 1st degree burn on my back at the beach once... and since I can't actually reach all of my back with my arms I was in agony. Luckily my wife put aloe on me whenever I couldn't stand the itching feeling. One day I was literally shaking trying to control myself from the pain/itching... it was the worst feeling I have experienced (and I have broken my foot playing soccer). For me it was to just stay shirtless, keep applying aloe, and stay away from fans that can dry your skin out and make it itch more.

I'm like you Mozgus. I go out in the sun maybe 15 to 30 minutes a day and thats all i can take. If I stay out more than 30 without heavy sunblock. I fry. I don't like how the sun feels on my skin either. I much prefer the cool dark nights that don't blind and burn me.

I get sunburns a lot, but they only hurt whenever I rub something against them. The only thing that annoys me about them is all the skin peeling off...

5 years ago I got 2nd degree burns on my back. That sucked. Last summer my legs got burnt and I could barely walk. Course that happened the day before I had to fly home. I could barely sleep because of it and then the next day had to do all the walking at the airport.

I'm glad I never get burned, it must be the Portuguese in me. I think I got slightly burned after sitting in the sun for 7 hours when my family had a yard sale, and that wasn't bad at all. I'm not even that tan.

Hats dude. Hats and shirts. I can stay outside all week at a festival and not get burned because I keep my damn hat on. I get plenty of UV from indirect light. My raffia hat is one of the best purchases I ever made.

Being a fair skinned Irish dude and a lifeguard/water ski instructor in the summer. I get burned easily and often when I don't wear enough sunscreen. I had precancerous moles removed last year...

Anyway. Aloe is the best, but for a quick fix used tea. If you are in agony, boil up a pot of water throw some teabags in it (the more the better) wait until it cools or add ice and use a sponge or washcloth to soak yourself.

I know it sounds silly and walking around dripping tea is not the coolest thing to do, but it does take away the sting. I use this method on the nights where I am so burnt I can't lay down in bead without screaming in pain.

Hats. I agree. My wide-brimmed bucket hats are always protecting me. :D

Since I'm trying to get back in shape, I started walking at the beach. Even using sunblock, I still got sunburns. This fucking city's got to be the closest to the sun in the world.
