I would get a cube unless you're planning on a Wii soon. I got my Wii a few weeks after I bought a brand new cube (30 dollars at gamestop) so that wasn't the best choice but if anything the controller is worth it.

Just because you have money coming in doesnt necessarily mean you should spend it. See if you can play your existing systems for another week or month or whatever and youll end up with more money in your pocket in the event you have a rainy day down the road!

But if you are rich and this doesnt apply, I say go with the genesis.

-Sega Genesis
-PS2
-Saturn
-gamecube
-more games for current consoles
-start a fund to get a wii

Thanks, guys! :D
Depends on what kind of games you enjoy.

Genesis: Great library of sports and fighters, plus great retro games like Ristar/Sonic/Vectorman and that ilk. Some titles are hard to find at a reasonable price.

PS2: Amazing library of great games of all genres, including some of Genesis's best.

Saturn: Good system, but I'd hold off for now.

Gamecube: Good library, and some great first party titles. Plus, if you get a Wii later, you'll have a compatible system to play them on.

Good luck.

I do almost all of my imports on eBay. Play Asia still jacks up their prices, and they hardly have any stock.

However, I did get my S-Video and Action Replay from Play Asia.

I probably wouldn't bother buying a gamecube if you're planning to buy a wii at any point. Unless you want to buy the gameboy player or something. I'd rather buy a new system and get some games you haven't played instead of just spending money on a system you've already had that will be useless as soon as you buy a wii.

Get the genesis. For under $100 you can get the system and a crapload of really good games. I'd guess for that amount you could get

A Genesis
A second controller
Sonic 1-3 and S&K
Vectorman 1 and 2
Rocket Knight Adventures
Dynamite Headdy
Kid Chameleon
TMNT: hyperstone heist
etc.

Well, the thing is my cash is going to be less after school starts. I am spending part and saving most for a car. I am really thinking genesis or PS2, at this point. This fall and winter I will start picking up games then, since I have consoles.

Is it your first car?

Protip: Don't spend jack on your new car. You either spend a little on a piece of shit, or or a little more on a little nicer piece of shit. But I can guarantee you after a short amount of time you'll want something better no matter what you get so it's better to save the extra money towards your second car.

Yeah, it is. I am spending $500-$1500 on it. Probably going to get one that will need a little love.

I think I will get a PS2, I am looking around and people are practically giving the games away. A lot of good games can be had for $5-$10 at gamestop and such, I am sure the prices will come up with the next console generation or two, so if I get them now I won't have to worry about it.
