Gameboy Collections

Post by MicroByte »

I've been feeling nostalgic lately and started buying classic Gameboys. I picked up a near perfect Graphite backlit GBA SP the other day at Game Stop of all places. The backlighting is SO much better and it's a great handheld.

I also picked up a Gameboy Color and the original.

The grail I need to get someday is the Gameboy Light. It's the black and white Gameboy with an indigo light only sold in Japan.

I have fond memories of Junior high sneaking games of Mario and Tetris in at lunch time, those were fun days.

Anyone else have a Gameboy story they want to share?

Over the past year, I've slowly come to the conclusion that the entire GB series is my favorite console of all time. Think of the library! Name a classic game... there's probably a port of it on a GB system. Amazing.

The Gameboy Light is a pretty good system, and can be had fairly easily on Ebay. I've noticed that it works better the dimmer the lighting conditions are.

Yeah, I've been watching eBay and they have a decent selection of Gameboy Lights, they're just pricey.

I agree, there are so many classic games for the gameboy and GBA and most can be had at a cheap price.

I'll be on the lookout for a GBL when I travel to Japan in October.
