The critics were wrong- this game rocks

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'll second Street Fighter: The Movie for the Saturn. Plays just like a classic Street Fighter, just has really corny graphics - which, in certain groups of people, can even be a selling point.

I'm currently playing Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard for the PS3. Game has a freakin' 51. Don't get me wrong - the game does have many faults, but I'm actually enjoying the game thus far. It's a hilarious parody of the gaming culture, and the gameplay is good. Not great, but any means, but it gets the job done. Much of the game has actually reminded me of Timesplitters. Not as good as that game, obviously, but I still feel it.

I also find it kinda ironic that the game itself is a parody of Duke Nukem Forever, while DNF never even came out.

I couldn't wait for the demo to end so I could delete it. Oh well.

You should try it, it's pretty fun. You get adrenaline for killing people, and then you use it to curve bullets around barriers, slow down time etc.

I enjoyed Dark Sector a lot as well. I was waiting for the glaive to get boring. Never happened. The story, or what they were passing off as a story, made little sense to me and was explained in like three cutscenes found in the whole game, but I didn't even care, because the damn glaive was so satisfying.

Sam & Max Season One
Medal of Honor Heroes 2
Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Endless Ocean
Deadly Creatures
Scarface: The World is Yours
Munchables, The
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins
Conduit, The
Ghost Squad
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Dragon Quest Swords: The Mask Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Mario Party 8
Cooking Mama: Cook Off
Wii Play
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Actually I think most of those got pretty decent ratings. Animal Crossing, Endless Ocean, Deadly Creatures, and wii play all got pretty good scores from the reviews I read. None of those are the obvious Mario Galaxys or Metroids but they were pretty well received. The games that get trashed are the ones that msrp for $19.99 on release and are ports of flash games or 10 year old ps2 games. Or just cash in trash like "Cool girls racing" or "Who's the boss: Tony Extravadanza"

From 100 to 20. Fucking 20. Even Tempest 2000 never received the laurels it truly deserved, but a score of 20 for Space Giraffe is just goddamned ridiculous.

Good one. I think Space Giraffe is epitome of the under-appreciated game. Most people just didn't get it.

I'm a huge Tales of Symphonia fan, so I was really excited for the sequel. I never really got into it, one of the reasons being the voice acting was noticably worse than the original. I'll definitely still play it through, but I'll finish Tales of the Abyss first.

(-_-) wrote:Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for ps2 is one of my favourite games. It has incredibly stupid AI and it may not be super innovative, but everything else was really solid about it. The guns were fun to use, explosions were awesome, melee was satisfying, and jumping is different than any other game I've played. You react to how you jump towards walls, so if you launch yourself towards a wall and jump off, it feels like your character is actually exerting some effort to do so. It's hard to explain unless you play it. There was also one button dedicated for dodging, but it resulted in a cinematic shot of some ludicrous acrobatics move that didn't really dodge anything so much as it just looking awesome. It even had a very fun four player death match as well. I'd give it at least a 7.5 as it is a lot more solid than higher rated third person shooters I've played. Metacritic has it at 66. Plus the game can be picked up at electronics boutique for 4.99.

I remember beating that game on a sunday, i thought it was pretty good but it was something fun to sit down to an play. Of course, i found a copy complete at EB a couple of months ago, so i couldnt complain.

Oh yea, this pisses me off about 1UP and thier "review" of Shadow Complex: http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3175605&p=4

But, its still a fantastic game. I just beat it Friday night and i thoroughly enjoyed it for the 5 hours of game play i put into it within 3 days (between work, sleep and internet time).

Heres some more i have trouble with: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/dynastywarriorsgundam2?q=gundam

DW:G2 is that low? It adds more than what the first game did (as well as Victory Gundam, which prompt me to get it even more) and i happen to still like it alot.

http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/mobilesuitgundamencounters?q=gundam

I really happen to think this is one of the best Gundam games for the PS2. I had so much time and fun playing this game when i first got it, it scores avg with the critics but fans love this alot, and so do I.

Well, its hard for most import gundam games to get any love here...
