Silhouette Mirage
Silhouette Mirage
anybody played this? I found it on the cheap, and it's by treasure and published by working designs (so double points). It looks interesting enough, but I haven't really gotten into it yet. Any thoughts?
Re: Silhouette Mirage
I got through most of it and it never really clicked.

Re: Silhouette Mirage
I've heard very good things about it. It's supposedly similar to Ikaruga, and that the Saturn Japanese version is much better than the English PS1 version.
Re: Silhouette Mirage
I've wanted this one for a while but could never find it for a good price. JP Saturn version of course.
Re: Silhouette Mirage
Why is the association with Working Design "double points"? To the point, Working Designs utterly butchered Silhouette Mirage. Avoid the US version and stick to the Japanese Saturn or PS1 versions. I'm not sure I've ever seen a comparison of the Saturn and PS1 versions (other than to reflect how badly Working Designs butchered the US version), but Treasure and Sega just go together so well.

Re: Silhouette Mirage
Yeah, Working Designs made Silhouette Mirage in the US unplayably hard.

Working Designs brought me Lunar, therefore everything they do is amazingcrux wrote:Why is the association with Working Design "double points"? Re: Silhouette Mirage
I have the game somewhere, I played it for a few days when I bought it back when the PS1 was the latest and greatest thing. I can't say that I really liked it a whole lot, because I haven't touched it since. I guess I kept it because I figured the whole Treasure + Working Designs thing meant it would be worth more much, much later than selling it then. Until you mentioned it with this post, I'd entirely forgotten about the game to be honest. I think I'll give it another whirl if I come accross it soon.
Re: Silhouette Mirage
I'm being serious though. Working Designs ruined the game. If your only choice is between a US version or no version at all, choose the latter.
Re: Silhouette Mirage
Working Designs really is hit or miss. Sometimes the changes they add when a game gets localized are good, like the extra hotkeys on XYZ in Dragon Force, while other times it's bad, such as the increased difficulty in Silhouette Mirage.
