BoringSupreez, while it did take me several years to finally play Quake 2, it is one of the few games that will probably always be in my Gaming PC "Repertoire." Low specced, easy to learn, countless mods/maps, and still alot of fun. What more can you ask for?
On a side note I just installed Return to Castle Wolfenstein last night for the first time. I beat it on a friends computer back in the day, but it is a neat title.

Re: Late to the Party: a thread for people of sooo last year
I thought I would try and change the subject from games. I had known about 'X' for sometime but didn't really know about them. I'd probably heard their music plenty of times in the background but never quite picked up on it. Earlier this year I went on a month drive and bought Under the Big Black Sun and it hasn't left my CD player since.

Quake 2 was one I actually played when it was current. It left me underwhelmed. I thought Quake I was more fun, and with Half Life under a year away nothing in Quake II impressed me that much. I played Quake IV earlier this year (4 years behind the curve, that counts for this thread, right?), and it was pretty good. Still not quite up to Half Life standards though.

Re: Late to the Party: a thread for people of sooo last year
i have always been far behind in most things. as a kid my brother wouldn't let me play his games for awhile so that's what started that. i just got the ps2 3 years ago. the Sega saturn last year. the dreamcast 4 years ago. my first playstation was bought way after the ps2 came out and got it for 10 bucks at a gamestop. there is a few things i have gotten when it came out like the psp 3001 (although this was a Christmas gift and i would of gone for a 2001 instead. but who's complaining?) and the n64 (again a gift) Also, while my playstation collection is decent when it comes to rpg's i haven't finnished chrono cross, wild arms 2 (my first ps1 rpg), final fantasy 7/8/9, xenogears, brave fencer mushashi, or even my personal favorite Front mission 3! and although i really want a 360 and a wii and ps3 i wont be able to get any of them for awhile due to me having no job. and they have been out for quite awhile

Re: Late to the Party: a thread for people of sooo last year
I'm always late, almost never play a game the year it was released. Only with the psp have I kept up a little. In PC I'm 3-4 years behind still have to play Half-Life 2 and just installed Full Spectrum Warrior and Silent Hill 2.
As a true retro gamer I get very excited and amazed at things that were so revolutionary years ago and I'm just beginning to see. Sometimes its great and sometimes its really bad like wanting to play online monster hunter for ps2.
