Should I sell my wii

Post by brycester »

This thing sits here and just collects dust and I have people who want to buy it....... However I don't know if I can live knowing there's a console I don't own. But I literally will never play it....... feedback please.....

There are a couple good looking titles coming up for the Wii (SMG 2, Other M, Muramasa, etc), so if you have interest in those I wouldn't sell it. However, if you literally have no desire to play your Wii given these titles and ones past, then I'd sell it. No reason to hold on to something you don't want.

I sold my Wii about a year ago. I ultimately decided that the only game coming that I wanted was Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and I gave up hope on it ever coming stateside.

Granted, even with it coming stateside, as well as the news of Metroid: Other M, I don't regret my decision. I'll just buy a Wii again after this gen is over - based on how sharply prices fell for the Gamecube after support for it was cut, I don't think it'll be a bad gamble.

Part of the reason cube prices fell dramatically because of the backwards support of the wii. I wouldn't bank on that happening again.

However, you are right. Only about 2 must play games come out a year. Kinda slow.

personally, i would softmod it rather than sell it. That way you can pop a ton of emulators in it as well as try out some wii games that you might not otherwise give a shot.

I bought my wii solely to play Brawl. At least that's why I bought it. I keep it because of the small amount of quality games that occasionally turn up. I'm currently looking forward to Muramasa. :)

It really depends on if you are interested in any of the upcoming titles like No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, Muramasa Demon Blade, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I keep my Wii for the small amount of great quality titles like Madworld, No More Heroes, and Nintendo titles of course. If not then sell it...8)

I also say keep it - if for nothing else than for a bit of gaming history. Whether you play it a lot or not - you have to admit the Wii is a milestone in gaming. It has the most unique controller, and it is the first console that really garnered a lot of casual gamers. I also have a Wii collecting dust with only about 5 games for it. But when my friends come over, thats one of the things that they can actually play.

The wii has a lot of good party games I love playing with my friends. Mario Party 8, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, and the Guitar Hero/Rock band series (even-though these games are on PS3 and 360).
