8MB is a pretty good amount when you make sure to check the back of each game's case.

For example:

8MB=8,000KB

Most PS2 games will require 100KB or less meaning that you have room for tons of games on that card without any worry for the most part of filling it up.
I have 195 PS2 games. I've already filled up one 32 bit card and one 8 bit card. :lol:

You can do that? :shock:

I guess I should get one of those since they go for cheap nowadays.

Does any game use it besides Final Fantasy XI?
If you're going to go that route you'll want to make sure that the HDD includes the HDD Utility Disc as well to manage and maintain it, as well as to enable the ability to save games to it:

The real question is does anyone actually use it "for" FFXI? You can transfer your files to your HDD using ulaunch also but there are no games which can load saves off the HDD. There's like 2 games that actually detect the HDD and let you make an installation in order to improve loading.

An HDD best use is with HDloader, so you backup your games and get better loading times and keep your games mint and your lense will thank you.

There's an app I haven't tried yet to load a virtual memory card off the hard drive but seeing you haven't messed with ps2 homebrew yet better not even think about going there.

There are quite a few games that do use the HDD (around 25+ in the US), but it was criminally underused for the most part.
