I'm not very artistic to be honest but after I beat Zelda the other day (Which by the way is the first Zelda game I've ever beat, but that's another story) I enjoyed it so much I decided to paint a picture of Link holding the triforce. I had to grid out the whole canvas into half inch squares and labeled every box with a letter corresponding to the color (that needed one) and then painted every square.
Anyone else ever play a game they enjoyed so much they just wanted to... draw it?
I used to scribble some sprite enemies on notepads back in grade school. They were horrible. I had a habit of doing obscure enemies from games, like the Oil Ocean Sonic 2 boss. Shit that people wouldn't be able to specifically recognize if they passed by. Don't ask me why.
Ah! This thread just reminded me! In middle school two of my friends and I would draw small pre-deployed Advance Wars maps on graph paper and fight each other 1 v. 1 during lunch (Game Boys were banned and ours were often confiscated). We'd play by the rules of a normal game and use a master sheet with all the movement, range, and ammunition statistics to make the game more accurate. Damage was done on an honor/agreement system with the non-player having the final call on any disagreements. The sheets would get so messy sometimes after all the erasing and drawing that we'd sometimes have to redraw them entirely. Good times .

I used to draw all sorts of stuff, mainly Nintendo characters, I had a picture feature in Official Nintendo Magazine back in the day, it was a picture of Mario in a kart, running over a Sega Saturn with an evil look on his face. I was a dirty little Nintendo fanboy back in the despite me having both a SNES and a Mega Drive. I won a memory pack for my N64. It wasn't even an official one and broke within a couple of months.
I'm moving out this week so if I find the pic I'll scan it in.
I am not skilled with oils or watercolors anymore, so I have shifted to a different medium - faux stained glass. I will post images of it when I get a chance. Right now I am still "learning" (more like creating) my craft, but have had some success with older anime characters.
Anayo, mind if I base something off of your centipede art? I wont be selling it is just too awesome to not try to do something with.
