My Gamecube crapped out on me back in '02, but I sent it to Nintendo, they sent it back, it's worked fine ever since. I also had a Genesis die on me a few years ago, but that's not so bad seeing as it's probably twenty years old and it's past-owner could have sucked.
Most reliable. Hmmm. Gameboy. Easy. I dropped my first Color sooooo many times, even on concrete. It's still trucking!
which console is the most reliable... which is the worst.

You know what I am just now realizing, I've never had any console ever die out on me not even my 360. Wow, thats wierd...maybe I'm forgetting something.....

I know it's a handheld system and not really a console, but I have to say the original Gameboy too.FreshChurros wrote:Most reliable. Hmmm. Gameboy. Easy. I dropped my first Color sooooo many times, even on concrete. It's still trucking!
Mine lasted for years, being dropped an uncountable number of times, fully submerged in water more than once, (accidentally) thrown, stepped on, and who knows what else... But it kept running without any problems until I replaced it with a GBA many years later.
There has been no other system come close to the stability of that ugly grey brick.

only nintendo/sega problems I've had have been my fault. NES wasn't terribly reliable though but I've never really owned one. The old stuff is more easily fixed to...atari 2600s are often still going strong after 30 years. 360 ftw when it comes to unreliablity my first one screwed up twice before I sold it before it broke a third time now I have an elite....

Probably the worst would be the Jag CD. Those things dropped like flies.
For the best I'd probably also say the SNES. Also the earlier gameboys were indestructible as mentioned.

The TurboDuo may set you back a pretty penny, but I bought mine circa early 1990s and it still works like a champ. That's my oldest functioning console, but I hear that the Sega Genesis and SNES are pretty bullet-proof, too. The problem with the NES is that the contacts wear out over time, making it harder to connect to the carts.
