Question about Sega Saturn Emulator SSF

Post by kazechan »

This isn't one of those, "I can't get it to run topics". I've used emulators long enough to know how to use this one. My question, how do you record videos with this emulator?

When I try to record the video, it goes to .ssfv format in the snapshot folder. Is there any way to convert this file or is there some sort of program to convert it? I'd sort of like to see my video. I've already tried searching for an answer on google with no luck, so I signed up here hoping to get my question answered since this is one of the results that came up.

I can record sound fine, it's just the video I'm currently clueless about. :\

From a quick search, it looks like most people use AviUtl to view/edit the ssfv files.

I tried using AviUtl with no luck. It wouldn't open the file. Of course, I could only find AviUtl in Japanese too, so that may be part of the problem. >_>

Anyway, thanks for trying to help me. I'm going to continue searching for an answer in the meantime. If I can find an English version of AviUtl, maybe I can view it then. >_<;

If I get a chance I will fire up SSF tonight and play around with it and see what I can do. I must apologize I have not used it in sometime and my ISP decided to deprovision my modem a few days ago...

Oh, it's fine. I appreciate any help I can get. ^^

At least I got AviUtl in English now, but it still can't open the file. I would just use Hypercam or something else to record it, but the emulator gets really slow when I do that. The video recorder that's built in the emulator doesn't slow anything down.

I'm still searching for a solution.

From my experience, it's easier to name the media formats that VLC doesn't handle.

I'm saying that you should try VLC to open it and see what happens.

Sorry to bump an old thread but the title suited my question,And I didnt want to start a new thread and clog the site up.

Basically I have SSF running perfectly fine and can play a whole host of games.
My question is I would like to know button layouts for games on PC.Ive done the whole press a button and see what happens but im still missing a few buttons.Sorry I should say for this question im basing it on Christmas Nights.

The buttons im looking for are the buttons for doing acrobatic moves.(the shoulder buttons on the pad)The reason being is i have my ps3 pad hooked up and running through motioninjoy,All buttons work(that ive found)and I have it working with analogue. But the skill buttons elude me.

Has anyone successfully setup the full pad for Christmas Nights? The only reason im emulating it is because im struggling to find a decent condition 3d controller for my saturn.

Hopefully someone can help me out?

Thanks
