N64 or Saturn?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Should I buy an N64 or a Saturn?

Such a damn fine game.

Nintendo 64 all the way, brother. You've got such a big selection of awesome games, they're easier to find, and there's all the kickass Nintendo/RareWare exclusives!

But if you can afford it, both.

but I just was watching some old Saturn commercials on youtube and I think I know why the Saturn failed. These commercials freak the hell out of me. From the creepy voice over to the crazy head at the end, I don't know what they were thinking. Seriously that voice over is straight from a horror movie. For some reason I don't remember these when they were actually being shown. I think that was the age I was more interested in trying to chase girls than videogames though, I missed the entire Saturn/64/PSX war.

Still interesting that Sega was still going strong against the competition in their ads just like back with the Nintendont stuff.
You know I look at those ads and see why sega failed too. . . but it's not the marketing angle, it's the games.

I mean how can you seriously put up an ad that disses the n64 and show video from Bug Too. The saturn has its good games, but the n64 just had a wider range of content. A lack of a real sonic game didn't help either.

If you're into arcade fighting games, space shooters, or rpgs the saturn is the obvious choice. For everything else you need an n64. As much as I love sega, if I apply the desert island question, I'd probably take 1st party n64 games over the saturn's entire library.

Welcome to the club! I also own an N64. There are a lot of great games for this system, so you will have some good times. Let me add Wave Race 64 and Killer Instinct Gold to the list of recommendations to buy.

N64 all the way! The saturn is a great machine, but it can be just maddening to build a library. With the N64, you can get tons of classics for cheap. You get the Zeldas, Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark (one of my favorites ever!), Star Fox 64, Super Smash Brothers, all of which you could buy several times over for the cost of the Saturn's best game (take a guess which one). And the N64 is just a party machine.
I cannot recommend the N64 highly enough.
Systems: Atari 7800, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Game Boy Pocket (2), Game Boy Color, GBA SP (2), DS

Nintendo 64. I'm usually Sega biased but like all of the great men above me said, it's easier to collect for. On top of that it has more classics i.e. Zelda,Mario 64,Conker's bad fur day etc. I have both but I play my saturn a little more. But if you have to choose between either or, go with the N64.

I have both systems and I favor the N64. Cartridges for most games are pretty cheap. It's easier to find used systems/games on Craigslist.

I'd say go for N64, but I wouldn't rule out the purchase of a Saturn at a later date. They're both great. I have two N64's and three Saturns, and I'm pleased with them both.

Saturn's more difficult to collect for, especially since a bunch of the gems are imports and whatnot.
