Sports games. I don't get it.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The best hockey game on the PS2 is easily NHL Hitz 2002 though.
I can no longer take anything you say seriously.

Then you obviously know nothing about hockey video games. NHL Hitz is the much improved spiritual successor to Rock The Rink (PS1), NHL Open Ice (Arcade/PS1) and Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey (Arcade/N64).

I'm sure he knows what hitz is,
All of those games it is a successor are arcadey, not simulation
alright games still, but they play to the stereotype that hockey is about killing each other.
EA NHL for ps2 are closer to the real sport which imo make them better hockey games.

WW,
Not sure if you read my other posts, I recently did a 20 year retrospective on hockey games, and I own both HITZ and Rock The Rink.

I like Rock the Rink, as a silly adaptation of a hockey game. Although the graphics really lack at some points, it's a pseudo hockey game that's fun for a while, but tires after a few games. The 3 person team is nothing new for a hockey video game, but it definitely holds a certain charm to it. It's tolerable.

HITZ is garbage. My APF TV Fun as a more realistic version of NHL hockey than HITZ. It's nonsense. It's hockey players playing on checkerboards with clown heads. It's the NHL game that focuses on fighting and big hits, but has the worst fighting and hits graphics and controls in a hockey game. If you want it, I'll sell my copy to you. Shit, I'd trade it to you for a copy of an NHL game if you think it's easily "the best hockey game on the PS2". I'd rather have a game where the hockey puck can't be modded to look like a beach ball.

NHL Hitz wasn't meant to be realistic. It was meant to be fun!

And at least the CPU doesn't control the game on Hitz. Whereas NHL 2002 eats shit and dies!

Face it, EA sucks! 2K sports all the way

lol
I love me some 2k hockey games (2002, 2005-2007) but no need to be a fanboy
"if you knew anything about hockey games" you would agree that both ea and 2k competing is good for hockey games.

And on another note, Midway pretty much PERFECTED catch up AI. Hitz is no better with bs from the computer then blitz or showtime
