a question for all you Illinois guys!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

a question for all you Illinois guys!

What good game/thrift stores are there in or around Chicago? I am going next week and I want to know some cool stores to check out to get some new stuff for my collection. 8)

The 2 that I know of is People Play Games on Clark just north of belmont and a mom & pop style store on montrose and harlem.

They're both pretty great but they're priced a bit high unfortunately. It's understandable from a business perspective and I do like to help out local businesses but it still hurts sometimes.

What is the name of the mom and pop shop? Also, what prices are they normally at? Thanks!

Whatever you do, eat a Superdawg at Superdawg, at Milwaukee and Devon. Take the blue line to Jefferson Park, and take a cab if not driving.

I looked it up, it looks good. I haven't heard of it, but I really like the wiener circle.

I grew up just a few blocks away from it. It is the true Chicago style hot dog. The Malts there are equally awesome.

Don't get Uno's pizza, it's a rip off. If you can get into Gino's East, you'll have some of the best pizza in the U.S. Also try to hit up Lincoln Park Zoo. It's free, and is a cheap cab ride from the red and blue line.

PM me if you would like, I'd be happy to point you to places that aren't so touristy.

Second the Gino's recommendation.

You also need to get a good italian beef sandwich. I personally love Portillos, and whenever I'm back in Chicago it's always on my list of things to do.

People play games is good, if selection is king and prices are not. They have some things you could only get on the internet otherwise. I went there last month (I was on a trip to Chicago at the time) and I bought Ace Combat 2, scratch free, for $10. I think it was worth it. Just watch that front step, it can take you by suprise on the way out if you forget about it.

Alright, I like low prices, but if I can find some cool stuff that is hard to find in town that would be awesome. :D
