moving sucks

While i was packing I realized that there are a slew of games i've never played in the last 2 years. Shipping stuff isn't exactly something i want to tackle in the next week, but you can be sure a ton of this stuff is going up to the buy/sell/trade soon! :)

Moving/packing sucks but it's neat seeing your whole life fit into a truck/van. Mine fit in my compact Japanese van.

My mom once told me moving is like childbirth, you never want to do it again until you forget how much of a pain it is.
I've been through a number of moves and I believe her.

My wife and I only recently finished unpacking this summer after moving in together last September. Ugh. I hate moving too.

Our move was particularly hard because we both lived by ourselves before (her in a 1 bedroom, me in a 2 bedroom) and we are both collector types (me videogames and CDs, her movies and CDs). We had a lot of stuff and we had to make a lot of decisions about what to get rid of so we could fit it all into our new 2 bedroom apartment, which is a little smaller than the one I had to myself before.

Moving isn't fun, but can be worth it when you get to reorganize it in a better way for the new room. All my stuff is usually in a drawer because I don't have enough space. I don't know if a bigger place is better because I would probably buy more stuff.

Moving mostly sucks.

Never really having a definite spot and moving every 3 years (or 2, or 4) sucks even more - not only it will suck when you move, but you actually live a bit worse during that time as you're already thinking you'll have to move so you won't set up stuff in a better way, or buy stuff that you would want but then is going to be more clutter to carry and so on.

I guess also having everything set up in a better way and buying everything you wanted to, then unexpectedly having to move all that will also suck a lot. But in principle after one of those you won't move again anyway, so probably the constant moving around is just the worst.

I haven't moved for a couple of years now but I used to move very often. Each time I moved, I would have to leave behind a piece of furniture for one reason or another, and eventually it became pretty easy to fit all my stuff in a small $20 moving van.

The most recent move for me took my awesome 36 inch Sony Trinitron CRT SDTV with it, sadly. The mother fucker was just too fucking heavy and we ended up having it fall over on its side. It was permanently damaged and would cost a fortune to fix according to the TV repair man, so I just gave it to good will. Still have yet to replace it. One of these days, I'll look into buying a used one from craigslist. What kind of retro gamer doesn't have an SDTV anyway? I miss light gun games.

I hate moving so much I still haven't unpacked all my cartridge based systems. They are in storage bins inside the garage. And I've lived in my house for over 4 years now.

Knowing eventually I'll be moving again. Don't know when or where but I hate it that much. What we did learn last time was to pack all our stuff in those cheap Wal-Mart bins, mark the boxes, and hire some day labors to move the boxes into the moving truck. Then we we get to the new house. Get a new set of guys to move the boxes into the house. That includes the big item frig, couches, ect.

It only cost us $200 for 2 sets of guys and lunch both times. Best money I ever spent.

I moved 4 times in the last 4 years. Its stressful but fortunately, nothing has gone wrong. Nothing lost, forgotten, or broken.
