I bought the Red version of the game when it very first came out. The ONLY thing I'd heard about it was some obscure article in Nintendo power a year or so prior to the North American release. It sounded neat enough, I was into RPGs, and the dragon on the front looked cool so I gave it a try. I loved the game, it was an absolute blast.

Then the cartoon, cards, toys, t-shirts, total media saturation came along almost immediately after, and I kinda just ditched my interest in it because of all the hoopla. I did have the Silver version at one point, and I have a couple of the GBA ones that I played a bit, but never finished. As the game series alone, it is a unique and fun game experience. Yet, one that you will never be respected for enjoying or taking part of due to all the other crap that goes along with it.

Someone bought me the blue version for the original gameboy as a christmas gift long after I'd stopped playing. It is still mint in the original shrink wrap, never opened. Think it is worth anything, or probably not?

between 40-100 dollars is where i see people price them
Actually sold I saw one go for about 42 bucks

Boxed complete (no shrink wrap) they are about 25 bucks on average.

I just spent a bunch of money on pokemon games, If it were a few weeks earlier I would buy it off of you.
I need a boxed blue.

On another note

I'm throwing a first gen Pokemon tourney with 7 of my friends
play for a week from scratch then get together to compete
would anyone be interested in a thread that follows it?
When we finally get together to play I'm going to record the stadium matches.

I'd be very interested. I will be interested in battling on wi-fi if anyone is willing. But yeah, I'd follow the tourney thread.
