I stumbled across a garage sale today that had some interesting things in it. The first was a large bin of Atari 2600 games (w/instructions), controllers (many different types), and a console. He says it works and everything looks good. There are about 30 games in here including Mario Bros. (I'll probably keep this), Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., sports games, and a bunch of other stuff. I know most of the games are common but are the instructions worth anything? Will they add value to the games or are they an item better alone? It also included a DC/Atari Swordquest mini-comic.
I asked if he had any other gaming stuff for sale and he pointed to the next plastic bin over. He said it had an Amiga in it. I've heard of one but never seen one and certainly don't know much about it. Inside is a console, hookups, controllers, and a bunch of floppy games including Dragon's Lair. Most of this looks like back-up stuff (except Dragon's Lair and a few others). There are also two guides to the Amiga and some instruction books. The bin also has the following:
8 complete AD&D games including box, instructions, and floppies.
Games are:
Champions of Krynn
Curse of the Azure Bonds
Death Knights of Krynn
Eye of the Beholder
Eye of the Beholder II
Pools of Darkness
Pool of Radiance
Secret of the Silver Blades
Lastly, he told me the Commodore Monitor sitting beneath the bin was included as it hooks up to the Amiga. He said he had his DVD player hooked up to it a month ago. It is model #1702 and includes the guide.
I paid $10 for all of it. Is this a good deal and is any of this stuff worth anything? I understand pictures would help so I'll get some for you by the end of the weekend. I would like to know what it is I have so I can determine what to do with it (trade/sell/keep). Any information/help/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Edited title.

Sounds like a good price on the Amiga set. There's a few members here who can tell you more about it.

The Commodore 1702 alone is worth much more than $10. You seriously have one of the best monitors/televisions ever produced. It has superb picture, and believe it or not, you can hook up S-Video to it if you wire up your own cable. Throw in the Atari and the Amiga, and you have gotten yourself quite a steal!

Showoff!
I kid.
My friend has that monitor. The monitor alone is worth so much more. It's got the crispest picture for a tube-type you can get with standard hookups. I'd save that to hook up to a NES or Saturn if I were you. Playing Megaman 2 on that monitor is so sweet! The others are worth quite a bit too, but I'm not that much of a collector so I can't give specifics. I spent a lot of time playing the DnD games as a kid (the dos ones) and having them as a set, boxed and in good condition should net you some serious cash to the right person.
Nice find!

Thanks you guys. So far I've found out I got a steal on a great TV. I just might have to try out my SNES on it. I also found that I have a nice collection of DOS AD&D games. Looking through Wiki and the pictures it kind of looks like the Amiga is a 600 series??? Is there a way to tell on the keyboard itself?
Keep the information coming guys, it's been great so far.

That is an awesome deal. I'm jealous. That amiga is worth at least $50, probably $100 with those games and the monitor. But you should keep it and play it. Eye of the Beholder and Pool of Radiance are real landmark western RPGs. You can always sell it later.

Re: Info Needed - Please help
I don't know what others think but I get peeved when I see a forum or email subject that has words like "Please help", "HELPP!!!!", etc. What's the point of putting that in subject? Are we all just sitting around scanning for threads and getting ready to jump when someone says help?
A better subject would have been to say "Need some info on Amiga garage sale find" or something like that. Otherwise, I'm more inclined to ignore the posting.
That's my $.02.

Thanks for your 2 cents. Yeah, I can change that. I do need help in that I have a system and I have absolutely no idea what it is.

Yeah the 1702 is easily the best CRT for old school gaming, it's so small too.
This get's my stamp of approval. Nice haul.

Re: Info Wanted on an Amiga/Atari Garage sale find
I got rid of the Atari but I haven't yet decided on what to do with the Amiga.
If I decide to sell it how much could I reasonably expect to get for it, the games, and the Commodore Monitor?
If I keep it what games should I look for and where, besides Ebay, can I find them?
