saturn controllers vs. usb saturn/ps3 controllers

Post by ac_90 »

i'm looking into buying one of those usb saturn controllers; but all the ones i see look sketchy. every ebay auction for them is from china and i haven't exactly had good experiences with chinese stuff from ebay in the past. anyone else buy one of these?

i bought a 3rd party 6 button genesis controller from china on ebay a few months ago and it was awful...the d-pad was weird, the buttons were flimsy, and the controller just felt really light and cheap...are there any problems like that with these ones? how do they compare to the official saturn controllers? also what's the deal with the sega logo in the middle are these actually made by sega or are they just knock-offs with the sega logo on them?

also, how would you compare them to say using a real saturn controller with a usb adapter? these things run about 25 bucks these days so i wanna make sure it's a good investment

It has been discussed before in this thread: [http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... &sk=t&sd=a]http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... &sk=t&sd=a[/url]

I have one and I'm pleased with it. I use it to play Genesis games on the Kega emulator.

Thirded Decent pad and you can even skin swap it if you like the worn in saturn pad feel.

I bought this one off of ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 3D1&_rdc=1

It looks and feels pretty genuine to me. It feels just like my Saturn controllers. The only difference is that the shoulder buttons are black on the USB controller and gray on the original controllers. The controller has the word Sega printed on the front, has a Sega sticker on the back, and it has Sega printed on the USB socket. Basically, the picture in the description is accurate.

I ordered it on July 23rd and got it a couple days ago.

I got one a few days ago also, from that same action. The controller is amazing. Definitely the official one, not a knockoff version.
