Thinking About "Upgrading" The Site
I've said it before, but I think a wiki is still the way to go. You can take the basic premise of the wiki engine and make it look like a blog; meanwhile, your user base will be able to contribute content. Content once contributed, doesn't have to remain stale -- but can be a living thing, constantly updated so as to retain that fresh aroma of relevance.
I have a wiki set up, but its not mature enough to bring into prime time.durkada wrote:I've said it before, but I think a wiki is still the way to go. Once I get the organization/navigation of the blog shaped up and make a dynamic front page, I will probably build up the wiki next.
After that, I will work on making more forum themes.
I'm going to be outsourcing at least some of this, so it won't all be waiting on me to find the time.

Well, the main content is moved to Wordpress and the front page is now functional.
Next up is possibly building up the Wiki and starting the groundwork for my game database project.

I think the site is great in it's current form but can see how you might want to evolve things a bit (like - as you mentioned - site hiearchy and navigation).
Looks like you are far down the Wordpress path; however, have you considered Joomla at all?
The pluggable content management features (modules) make site mgmt a breeze.

Well, I just spent $200 migrating everything to Wordpress, so I'm not about to change again. But I'm pretty happy with Wordpress. It's also open source and has a big community.SegaK2 wrote:I think the site is great in it's current form but can see how you might want to evolve things a bit (like - as you mentioned - site hiearchy and navigation).

Don't know if you saw my navigation before, but it sucked due to Blogger's limitations.

Glad you are liking Wordpress -- I'm definitely enjoying the site!
