Vista sucks so just don't use it. If you have to buy a new computer, demand they install XP on it. Microsoft has done this before, with Windows ME. They purposely released a shitty new Windows to replace the excellent Windows 2000 and then shortly after released a proper upgrade (Windows XP).

Getting all the fools out there to pay for 2 OS's worked out so well, why not do it again? So many people have bought Vista and once Windows 7 comes out, you can be sure most of them will buy it as well. Money speaks louder than words. Don't buy the OS after Windows 7 until you make sure it's better.

Whoa....ME was not a replacement for 2000. ME was an upgrade for 95/98. 95/98/ME do not have the Windows NT kernel.

I use Vista at work and sure, there are some glitches/minor issues. For the most part, it works fine. I just installed SP2 so hopefully it'll be even better.

OK, maybe I'm mistaken but they named it like it was a replacement. Windows 2000 and then Windows ME (the Millennium was year 2001). Anyway, my point doesn't change either way. Going from 98 to ME would have been a bad idea too.
