Why do you favor the Windows OS?

I got this idea for this topic. I am not here to debate which is better. But there is something I want to know.
WHY DO YOU FAVOR THE WINDOWS OS?

I understand that people would want Windows for something specific like:
1) They think it is cheaper
2) Games
3)Unavailible specific software(true)
4)Some technical reason I don't understand.

Some people just don't feel like changing OS, and that is OK. But for people who actually favor the Windows platform I really want to know what makes you favor that OS?

I have been using windows from 95-02 . I bought an iMac in the end of 02. It lasted 7 years(my PCs died-unusable- after 4, same price almost), and still kicking. Never formated , never virus.

On my current macbook I got Windows too. Whenever I switch to it, I am more likely fixing or trying to make it work than actually using it. On the mac you hardly have to fix anything, it just works. Ask it to do something and it does, no long confusing configuration. You might argue about the software+hardware compatibility of the Apple but that is an advantage not an excuse. This makes Apple a better computer, configured for limited hardware or not.

So why do you favor Windows? What makes you feel good and happy using it? Just wondering if I missed something through all my years using it.

First off, it's a shame that they are throwing those Macs away at that school. I had a Mac for a long time in the 90s and I really loved to use it.

I prefer Windows now simply because it is the dominant OS for my line of work and I have to stay skilled in it. Granted, if the Mac was the dominant OS (or even Linux or Unix), I would use that. I really like the Mac OS - its just that it isn't practical work-wise for me to use it.

It's a shame that they're just throwing them out anyway. They should donate them or something for Christ's sake! Or at the very least, recycle them.

First of all, they should send some of those Macs my way. I'd be glad to give them a home.

I actually use Windows because of the games, software compatability, and, seriously, it runs faster than other operating systems I've tried. Which is Ubuntu Linux. I'd like to get my hands on Mac OSX, although I doubt it could somehow convert me.

I like all the games and programs I can use on the PC.

It's weird that a school would just throw away computers. I'd be surprised if people didn't just pick those out of the trash lol.

i think if it does have one advantage it'd be infinite compatibility

The biggest reason? Most Mac machines cost more than my fucking car did. I can't justify that. I don't care if it supposedly does some things better, it does a whole lot less overall, especially in gaming. I'd much happier with my powerhouse PC I built, that can run and do everything I ever need it to. Nothing frustrates me more than when I send a file to a Mac user or loan them an accessory and it turns out there's no way for them to work with it.

Windows has tons of flaws. More than I can possibly count. But a simple google search will find the solution or workaround within minutes. Small price to pay for the convenience of a much larger array of uses.

I'm thinking of getting a mac book pro for college since ms office is available for osx and I'm looking to get into the film industry so it will come in handy for that also.
