Mad World PAL Borders

Post by Incognito D »

What is this all about? The massive black borders make the game basically unplayable. They're xbox huge.

I'm really struggling to get into MadWorld. I've played for a couple of hours and find it uninteresting. Should I stick with it or just trade it for something else?

Black Borders? Nooooooooooo I thought we saw the end of those when scart leads became standard. Are there borders on the other versions?

I have no idea if its worth playing thru, but I hear its pretty short so why not sit it out anyway?

The US relase of MadWorld has very thin verticle bars on the right and left of the picture. And I want to emphasize the very thin part. It's just enough to make you realize it isn't taking up the full screen size. It's certainly not something like them not implimenting widescreen. I'd aliken it to how on some TVs you see how the PSX doesn't reach all four sides of the screen due to underscan.

Honestly if you haven't gotten into the game already you probably won't. It's all about fun beat-em-up action with some great announcers.

If you are a couple hours in and still not interested, I'd say trade it.

The game had some fun level design in my opinion, although it took a couple levels before I really appreciated it... but if you've already gotten through Chinatown (which should be less than a couple hours into the game) and aren't having fun then it's probably not the right game for you.

This is what I'm talking about. Look at dem borders. :o

It makes the game almost unplayable.

Setting my Wii to 16:9 helps for some reason, but I shouldn't have to do this every time I want to play Mad World

(Also, wow cool, The sensor bar LEDs showed up in that picture. It's like the ghost camera from Goemon 64! )

Are you sure you aren't accidentally setting the game to widescreen? Look in the game options; I can't remember if there might be a setting that can help.

If I'm not mistaken that's a 4:3 TV. Try it on a widescreen TV and you should see the borders disappear.

I don't see any significant borders on a 16:9 CRT TV over RGB and I don't see any borders at all on my 42" Panasonic Vierra over component.
