Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Ohwell, a good friend of mine was Clef from Magic Knight Rayearth at Anime Expo a couple weeks ago. She said the most disappointing part of it was that so many had no idea who she was, even with the rest of the cast. The day when Sailor Moon is unknown to the masses, is the day I stop considering myself an anime fan.
The only way i know about Magic Knight Rayearth is the fact that i own the Sega Saturn game, and seen the first 5 episodes. Its a great game, and the anime is pretty good from what i watched/remembered.

I will say this, it think the day will come when people forget Sailor Moon, same when people forget Final Fantasy 7/Cloud Strife. Think about it, stuff 20 some years ago was popular like Bubblegum Crisis, Dirty Pair, Robotech, and more, no one today remembers except if your above the age of 25 or something (im 23 and i know better, research does wonders). Anime now is just a fad, not as dynamic or along the same fanbase as Comics are. Hence why it seems i cant get into any new anime (there are some that do peak my interest) because its just something thats popular for a while and will be gone, nothing like what was made back then.

You can still be an anime fan, but keep it to yourself, that seems to be the best solution for these times...

I think keeping it to yourself is a good decision. If you're into it for the comic appeal of yester-year, do you really want to be corralled in with the current fad-nerds? Probably not. At least not with the folks I think we're referencing...

Meanwhile, cosplay on that level has to be admired even if you don't get it. I mean, that's effing fantastic. Probably better than many motion picture houses' prop units.
