How to play burned PS1 games on a PS2?

Post by omer »

What's been bugging me is that every guide or tutorial I see on the internet about how to play burned (CD-R) PS1 games on a PS2 using some stupid swap method for PS2 slim models. Fuck the slim model just because it has a flip top.

I know I sound a little ignorant about this but there has got to be a way to play burned (CD-R) PS1 games on a Fatboy PS2 (or any ps2 model) without a modchip or using ANY swap method.

I have SCPH-30001R FATBOY PS2 Model with Free Mcboot.

FreeMcBoot only works with PS2 games. You need a mod chip or swap media to play PS1 games on PS2.

sorry my friend, but he is right. your best bet to play these games is emulating them or if you really really want to chip your ps2.

What are you talking about? All you need is PSXloader! Put it on a USB flash drive, then launch it via uELFLauncher. I play my PS1 backups on my PS2 like that all the time! Yes, you need to swap, but that should be no problem at all. All you need to do is get an old plastic card and cut it into the shape of a swap tool.

As I recall, at some point in the past you could buy a replacement top shell for the fat PS2 that would give it a flip top. I first encountered it when I found that DDR enthusiasts would use it to use a region disk to play JP DDR mixes on their US consoles.

Why not? It's really easy, and you can put the disc tray cover back on at any time.

I just dont want to risk hurting my precious PS2 that has lasted me since 2001 over simple 32-bit games made over 12 years ago.

I found my old Playstation 1 and i just ordered Breaker Pro v1.1 NTSC. Seems safe and easy.

I lost all faith in Sony ever since the release of PS3 and I want to take full advantage of the two previous great systems, Ps1/ps2.
