Which Racing Games Have Aged the Best?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I still love playing Excitebike on the NES.

For the SNES, it has to be F-Zero and Mario Kart. Even with all of the newer ones, I still like the oldies.

For the Genesis, I absolutely can't get enough for Road Rash. And for some horrid reason, Hard Drivin'. Thats such a bad game that it's really awesome.

Into the PSX and Saturn, Ridge Racer series was great on the PSX. I remember Ridge Racer was the first game I got, and I played it to death. Same thing for Daytona USA. I still hear that song in my head, "Daytona! Let's Go away!"

I routinely break out into song in public whenever it pops into my head as pictured:

Good to know I'm not the only one doing that. Hehe

There is an arcade hall by where my gf lives that has the 4 player Daytona Arcade cabs, and everytime I see them, I'm yelling "Daytona!"

Just cause I know some of us wanted to hear it.

i'm a big fan of the tokyo extreme racer series. syutokoh battle 97 on saturn was always my favorite, but the dc releases are fun also.

Man I forgot Tokyo Extreme Racer. That was a good one for the PS2, never played the DC one.

Tokyo Extreme Racer was good, but all too short of a game with far too many sequels that sadly ended up killing the 'tokyo racer' genre here in the states.

It was short. I remember the car customization. It was the best part of the game for me.

I think the last one was TER: Drift something or the other. Most of TER sequels just didn't hold up.
