Ebay Seller Woes

Post by fox099 »

Howdy everyone! So I come across the deal of a century. A whole lot of classic RPGs for the SNES. I place a number of bids, and end up winning Chrono Trigger for 26.99. I just got a message from the ebay seller: "Thanks for you bid! Although, Chrono Trigger is worth more than $26.99. I won't be able to sell. Sorry, however I did relist it! Thank you :)". Everyone stay away from seller "xxbluesboixx"!
Consoles Owned: Nintendo SNES, Nintendo GameBoy Color, Nintendo GBA, Sony PSX, PS2, PS3, Sega Master, Microsoft XBox

Did you file a complaint with Ebay? If not, you should.

Isn't your bid a legally binding contract?

Not sure of ebays rules and regs, but if it is in fact a contract, I'd at least threaten him with the fact that you have contacted a lawyer.

Exactly. If the seller didn't want to sell the game for that price, he shouldn't have offered it at that price. Ebay sellers have the option of placing a reserve on their auctions. For example, an auction could start off at $0.01 but unless the bidding ends up surpassing the seller's reserve price, it doesn't count. So in this case, if the seller had set the reserve amount at $50, he wouldn't have been obligated to sell it to you.

You bought the game fair and square. If the seller insists on ignoring his own auction rules, it's your responsibility to report him to ebay for it.

If he wanted more than that, he should have either
set a minimum bid
or set a reserve

this is against ebays terms, and your bid is a contract for both buyer and seller. I agree with the above, report him

yea, you need to report him. What a jackass.
Do you have a copy of the email he sent you?
Forward PM it to me, I feel like messing with him.

He put it back up @ 10.99
http://cgi.ebay.com/Chrono-Trigger-Orig ... 911.c0.m14

Were the other games you bid on from him. Final fantasy 2, 3. Mario rpg?
Because he also listed those recently.

He looks like a douche....
