Good to see that I'm not the only person who thought it was garbage.

Good to know, one of my friends was going to download this after work.
We played and beat Hyperstone Heist on Hard over the weekend, and he's itching to play more retro TMNT games.
I think I'll loan him my copy of TMNT 3 on the gamecube.

Thanks for the info. I was intrigued but ultimately not a buy for me. In cases of nice 2D games like this, I'd really just rather have the original game. Obviously we wouldn't get the SNES game on XBLA, but the arcade game would probably be just as good if not better.

Re: Turtles in Time: Reshelled
*Wipes forehead in relief*. TMNT IV Turtles in Time is hands down one of my favorite games of all time. When I first heard about the remake it made me upset, but I then thought that it may actually be good. The screen shots didn't look half bad, new online play, what can be so bad? I play the SNES version weekly so I didn't feel a need to buy but I said fuck it and I was going to go for it. My friend bought it before I did, and BOY is this game shit! I didn't like the graphics, and I didn't recognize any of the old music. I'm glad I didn't buy it. I will continue to play Turtles in Time on my SNES. Cowabunga?
I give this game an R...for Radically bogus! Give me 3 bro!

Re: Turtles in Time: Reshelled
Okay, I am going to be a little kinder to the game with my opinion, which is as follows:
Turtles in Time Reshelled is pitiful as a remake, but had the engine been used to design a new arcade style brawler that wasn't tied into a retro favorite, I think it would have and could have been much better received.
The game itself is fun, and even enjoyable. I like it, but you HAVE to get past the fact that it is a complete remake from scratch of what was one of the best 2D brawlers ever.
I just told myself to look at it as an entirely new game, with references to the original Turtles in Time. Then I can enjoy it for what it is. That does not take away from the fact that the original should have been ported just like the first Arcade game was, and this Ubisoft engine been used to create a new sequel instead.
If you are expecting the original, then don't bother, because you, like me, will be sorely disappointed. If you can see it as a new game with a Turtles in Time theme, then you can probably find the fun to be had with the title.
Garbage based on the game itself aside from source material? Not at all, it is actually an enjoyable multi-player game. Garbage comparing it to the original game? Well, by that criteria, yes it is inferior, but probably only to those of us old enough to have a greater appreciation for the 2D classics.
All in all, I really hate to see the game get "remade" at all. At least the first game in the series was just a straight up port. As much as I loved Turtles in Time in the Arcades as a kid, I always liked the first one a tad more anyway.
