Is this a good deal?

Post by ArwingCmdr »

I was at my local game store today and they had a complete 3do system for 70$. It included all cords and one controller. I am very intrigued by it but I wasn't sure about the price tag. How good of a deal is it? Also, I picked up a complete Mario Paint (box, mouse, mousepad, game ect.) for 16$. I felt that was pretty good but feel free to correct me haha.
With Sega Saturn nothing else matters!

Price is kinda high for console only, but it is subjective. They are rare, and you may never see one in the wild again. I got my FZ1 for $20. The question is, is it worth $70 to you. You could prob get one cheaper elsewhere, but if you can test it to make sure it works, see that its clean, etc, than it is all up to what you are willing to pay for it.

I'm not too sure it would be worth it for me. Honestly, I don't know anything about the 3do. Do they have much going for them as far as software goes?

its got a few good games, gex, lucien's quest which the one time i saw it on ebay the price was in the 150 range(and from my understanding its not that great but pretty rare),and known to have the best street fighter 2 port for its time

personally i hated the system

alot of what they call games are just interactive movies...that suck

Yeah I bought a 3DO a while back for $73 on ebay with 7 games. I had never played it, but I was interested in it so I bought one. I thought It was going to be as good as the Saturn or Playstation but was totally wrong. It had some decent games. Gex, Road Rash, and Need for Speed were three of the games that came with my 3DO and were pretty fun. Now my 3DO is just sitting on my shelf just chillin. I wouldn't have bought it for that price tag now that I have played it.

It seems to me like almost all decent 3do games have ports (or are ports) from/to other, more popular, consoles. The 2 games that keep popping out as being standout titles are street fighter ii turbo (apparently the best port) and star control 2. 70$ does seem fairly steep, but it is something that not too many other people will have.

Pick up a copy of Return Fire if you get the 3do. It is an excellent strategy type of game. An expansion was also made called Return Fire: Maps of doom. Star Control 2 is also highly recommended.

Captain Quazar is also a decent platformer but it tends to be a bit pricey.

A mom & pop store was selling a GBA kiosk, GBA included, for $60 and tax. Should I go back and get it?
