I recently bought a mod chip for my Model 2 32-pin Saturn. I'd like to try the A+B method but I'm not sure exactly how to make the solder bridge between the two points. I tried doing searches for this but couldn't find anything relevant.
I'm very apprehensive about the installation because I've never soldered anything before. The guides I have read so far say that you should never apply solder to the iron directly (unless tinning it), which made me wonder about how to get the solder on the PCB between the A and B points. Do I apply the iron directly to the board and then touch the solder to the heated board? Will this melt the chip? I would greatly appreciate any guidance!
Thanks

Re: Making Solder Bridge
I just heated a blob of solder between the two points. As long as the solder makes contact with the two existing bits of solder you're good to go.

Re: Making Solder Bridge
You could also just use wire to bridge the connections.
Re: Making Solder Bridge
When I was doing my xbox I just cut a tiny chunk of thin-wire solder, placed it over the 2 points and touched the soldering iron to it. Maybe not the correct way but it worked.

Re: Making Solder Bridge
What I do is first clean the two points with a fiberglass pen or some flux. I put a small bead of solder on the iron and touch the point and hold it for a few seconds. Then I pull the iron away. A bit of solder should stay behind. I do the same for the other point. Then I put a bead on top of the existing bead and draw it over to the other point.
The other suggestions of using a small bit of wire will also work.

Thanks for the tips! I think I got it now
Re: Making Solder Bridge
Even though it's a sloppy way to do it, you can pretty much just drag the hot iron between the two points to create a bridge. I mean, solder bridges are usually an accidental result occurring from this.
