Japan has a whole section of their video stores dedicated to animated tentacle rape, basically the Japanese make no sense at all. I think it has to do with the fact that they have better ps3 exclusives over there.

Whoa, that's a pretty big generalization.

If anyone ruined gaming its us the consumers. What we buy dictates what they make. If only party game make a profit on WII thats all they are going to make. If you don't want just FPS games on your Xbox quit buying them. being a good game does not mean profit, being a mass marketable game does. Gaming has become hollywood hype, hype, hype sequels sequels upon sequels. Innovation is a double edge sword. Thats why i play retro, plus i cant drop $60 for a new game. I never cared for pc gaming anyway hurts my eyes. Mario sequels seemed called for does guitar hero 5?

The Xbox is a poor man's gaming PC. Just look at the titles for the Xbox 180. Most of them are PC ports.

Yup even the xboxs flag ship game halo was intended for the pc and mac. The ps1 and 2 gave 3rd party developers a easy console to work with. The xbox just took all of the pc sectors developers and now we have a shitty console scene.

Haha, I love how like, three people have been able to say in a single paragraph what I chose to take like, six in saying. Thank you for simplifying it for those who don't wanna read a massive wall of text, guys!

I've read that the PS2 is actually difficult to develop for, but good marketing and mass adoption made up for it (Guerrilla, developer of Killzone 2, said so, IIRC).

I think 1985-1993 was the golden age of gaming.

And I'm sure kids of this generation will consider 2008-20XX the golden age of gaming.

Perspective is a wonderful thing.
